Welders: Introducing 3M™ Speedglas™ 100 Graphic Series Welding Helmets – Women's Collection Welding Helmets Designed Expressly for Women
The 3M Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division (OH&ESD) is pleased to announce the introduction of the 3M™ Speedglas™ 100 Graphic Series Welding Helmets - Women's Collection.
With this launch 3M becomes the first company in the world to offer a collection of welding helmets with graphics designed expressly for women. The design team took direct inspiration from women welders, resulting in designs that express a characteristic 'welding personality' but with a little more feminine expression. These helmets give women welders the opportunity to express themselves without sacrificing quality or safety while welding. Four distinct designs are available as part of this collection: Skull Jewels, Steel Rose, Steel Eyes, and Wild-N-Pink.
Besides a stunning appearance, these helmets also feature an ergonomic headband that accommodates smaller head sizes. Each of these designs is available with an auto-darkening lens (ADF), and offers the same protection, comfort and performance that the Speedglas brand is known for.

3M Joins Forces with Control Vend
3M and have joined forces to provide innovative vending solutions to the manufacturing industry.
Customers can now save time and money by managing distribution of 3M eyewear, hearing and respiratory protection products as well as 3M industrial consumables all from one location—a Control Vend machine.
Storing and dispensing products in this manner protects them from dust and damage. It also assists with safety equipment compliance.
The goal is to control and reduce usage rates customers whilst maintaining ready access to 3M products. By achieving this, 3M provides significant cost reductions to companies and generates a capital surplus that can be implemented into company budgets and forecasts.
The Control Vend reporting system tracks and monitors every transaction. From this raw data, they work with customers to provide tailored reporting whilst maintaining confidentiality if required.

3M Sponsors Innovative Noise Awareness Program for Adolescents
3M is the major sponsor of the Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow program, an initiative of the WA-based Grow Smart Foundation. Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow is a noise awareness program targeted specifically at adolescents.
This innovative noise awareness program aims to demonstrate the effects of playing in-ear listening devices such as MP3 players, mobile phones and iPods at dangerously high volumes over time. To date, the program has found that eight out of ten school children tested are playing their in-ear listening devices too loud.
